Privacy Policy
Last updated: 30.08.2026
BlindSpot Track ("we," "us," "our," "the App") is operated by Kateryna Alieksieienko. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how you can control it.
By creating an account or using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you don't agree with it, please don't use the App.
1. Information We Collect
Account information
When you create an account, we collect your email address and a nickname you choose. Your password is handled by our authentication provider and is never visible to us in plain text.
Location
The App uses your location, only while the App is in use, to show you events near you and calculate walking distances. We never request or use "Always" location access, and location is never collected in the background.
Preferences
We store settings you choose in the App, including:
- Your selected country and city
- Whether you'd like to see LGBTQ+ spaces and events — this is entirely opt-in, visible only to you, and never shared with other users, friends, or shown on your profile
- Whether you'd like to see evening-only or free-only events
- Whether your profile is discoverable to other users searching by nickname
Event activity
To make the App work — including enforcing how often you can reveal a hidden event, and preventing abuse of free trials — we record:
- Which events you've revealed, and when
- Which events you've marked as "arrived" at
- Which nickname-eligible free trials have been used (identified by a one-way hashed version of the email used, not the email itself)
Friends and sharing
If you use the friends feature, we store your friend requests, connections, and any events you choose to share with friends. If you block another user, we store that block so we can enforce it.
Student verification
If you choose to verify a student status for discounted pricing, we collect the university email address you provide, solely to confirm it belongs to a recognized university domain. We do not store this email anywhere beyond what's needed to confirm and record your verified status.
Subscription information
If you subscribe to Premium, Apple's StoreKit handles your payment directly — we never see or store your payment card details. We do store your subscription status, its dates, and an Apple-issued transaction identifier, so we can confirm your entitlement and handle support requests like restoring a purchase.
Support and feedback
If you contact us through the Help screen, we receive whatever message you write, and your email address only if you choose to provide one so we can reply.
Device and session information
To keep your account secure — including enforcing that an account can only be signed in on one device at a time — we store a randomly generated identifier tied to your current active session. This identifier does not identify your device to us in any other way.
What we do not collect
We do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs. We do not track you across other apps or websites. We do not sell your data to anyone, ever.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information above to:
- Show you relevant events near your selected location
- Operate core features: reveals, pinned events, Special Events, friends, notifications
- Enforce fair use of free trials and reveal limits
- Process and verify subscriptions and student discounts
- Keep your account secure, including detecting sign-ins from another device
- Respond to support requests and feedback
- Comply with legal obligations
3. Who We Share Information With
We share information only with the service providers who help us run the App — currently, our backend and authentication provider (Supabase) and Apple (for in-app purchases and push notifications). These providers only receive what they need to perform their function, and are not permitted to use your data for their own purposes.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with advertisers or data brokers.
We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the safety, rights, or property of BlindSpot Track, our users, or the public.
4. Your Choices and Rights
- Access and export: You can export your account data at any time from Settings.
- Delete your account: You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings. This action is immediate and cannot be undone.
- Location: You can revoke location access at any time in your device's Settings. The App will still work, but won't be able to show you nearby events or distances.
- Notifications: You can disable notifications at any time in your device's Settings or the App's Notification Settings.
- LGBTQ+ spaces toggle: You can turn this on or off at any time; it is never visible to anyone but you.
If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or a jurisdiction with similar data protection laws, you may also have the right to correct inaccurate data, restrict or object to certain processing, and lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
If you are a California resident, you have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know what personal information we hold about you and to request its deletion. We do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data promptly, except where we're required to retain limited records (such as anti-abuse trial records, in hashed form) for legitimate fraud-prevention purposes, or where retention is required by law.
6. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for children under 16 (or the minimum age required in your country to consent to data processing without parental permission). We do not knowingly collect information from children under this age. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
7. Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypting data in transit and enforcing access controls on our backend so that your data is only ever accessible to your own account. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you through the App or by email before the change takes effect. Continued use of the App after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
